Cardboard Shelter 2008

November 28, 2008

This year sees the first Cardboard Shelter exhibition, which is a project bringing together artists from around the UK, with the aim of raising both awareness of, and funds for The Big Issue Foundation. The exhibition consists of 30 artists creating a piece of work on an A4-sized piece of cardboard, all of which will be be displayed and available for purchase at £40 each.

The exhibition was held at the Artworks Gallery, Ouseburn and I was sure to head down prompt to grab a bargain and support a great cause. Sure enough I was the first one there and had first pick at the pieces. There was loads of great pieces by artists such as Prefab 77, Cloud Commission, Otick and Chiba Love to name only a few. I was lucky enough to be able to snap up one of the original Prefab77 pieces to add to my collection.

Check out my Flickr page for more shots of the exhibition and if you want to find out more about Cardboard Shelter you can check that out here www.cardboardshelter.org.
